Luis Leiva (Uni Luxembourg), Diego Eloi (UCLouvain), and Jean Vanderdonckt (UCLouvain) participated in the European and Innovation Week, an event organized by the European Innovation Council in Brussels from March 18th to 21st, 2024.
Among the numerous events, talks, workshops, and networking events, we attended two interesting Tech Talks by two EIC Programme Managers: Samira Nik (EIC Programme Manager for Quantum Tech and Electronics) and Franc Mouwen (EIC Programme Manager for architecture engineering construction technologies).
The workshop entitled “EIC Business Acceleration Services: discover EIC support beyond funding!” was also interesting as we learnt which services can be asked to support promotion activities in Pathfinders (our case with SYMBIOTIK) and Accelerators projects. More specifically, an experience business manager can be assigned to a project to help analysing the competitors, identifying the right markets, and trying to address relevant customers.
The workshop entitled “How to build your future spin-off, learn from Pathfinder and Transition beneficiaries” was also relevant for SYMBIOTIK to plan these activities in the near future. Further, among all breakout workshops, the “EIC portfolio management: generating impact” was the most relevant for better understanding what could be done in the context of portfolio management.
Also very vivid was the B2MATCH, a dedicated networking area for on-site matchmaking is located in the venue. The networking space included many tables, each numbered for identification. A QR code was available to access to the b2match platform and to register on-site.
While Tuesday 19 March saw the EIC 2024 Summit which was available only for EIC beneficiaries and invited guests, Wednesday 20 March focused on the Innovation Procurement, and Wednesday 20 March and Thursday 21 March were dedicated to the so-called “EU Research & Innovation Days”. Most of these talks were also accessible online in real time.
In sum, we had a very busy agenda and productive days!
