As we move into the final year of the project, to be concluded in September 2026, the consortium stands at an exciting point of momentum. What started with the ambitious vision to rethink how humans and adaptive visual systems collaborate in time-critical decision environments has evolved into a vibrant research and innovation endeavour yielding tangible insights, tools, and community engagement.
At its core, SYMBIOTIK seeks to advance context-aware adaptive visualizations that help humans navigate overwhelming data and make faster, better decisions. The framework being developed is grounded in human-centred principles: combining artificial intelligence with context awareness, emotion sensing, and expressive capabilities to foster a symbiotic dialogue between people and machines.
Looking ahead, the final year will be devoted to refining these innovations and demonstrating the added value of context-aware adaptation in real-world use cases.
