Sphynx proudly participated in the HealthIT Conference 2024 held on October 29-30 under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Health. This prestigious event brought together government officials, healthcare professionals, and technology providers, highlighting the continued push for digital transformation within Greece’s National Health System (NHS).
This year’s HealthIT Conference provided a valuable platform for over 80 speakers and 350 participants to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by digital transformation in healthcare. The conference explored essential topics, such as data security, system interoperability, and change management, which are fundamental to Greece’s vision for a modernized NHS. By joining these discussions, Sphynx reaffirmed its role as a leader in cybersecurity for digital healthcare.
Sphynx’s involvement in HealthIT 2024 facilitated its engagement with industry experts, government leaders, and stakeholders from the healthcare and technology sectors, highlighting its contributions to the SYMBIOTIK and RETENTION projects in which Sphynx is participating.
A highlight of Sphynx’s participation was the keynote delivered by Dimitris Kasimatis, Sphynx’s Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager, as part in Session 2: The Digital Transformation of the Greek NHS, titled “Cybersecurity for the Era of Personalized Healthcare”. More specifically, Dimitris Kasimatis highlighted the essential role of cybersecurity in healthcare’s digital transformation, focusing on the need to secure patient data and uphold privacy. He emphasized Sphynx’s commitment to providing comprehensive security controls that offer visibility and oversight from a single pane of glass, ensuring healthcare providers can safeguard sensitive information effectively with Sphynx’s robust solutions.
The healthcare sector is undergoing a deep and promising digitization to take its services to the next level of telemedicine, AI-boosted insights, robotics and more. That means moving and redesigning key processes and leveraging patient data. By 2030, healthcare is expected to generate 30% of the world’s total data. This exponential data growth brings significant security implications, including challenges in data storage, privacy, and protection from cyber threats. Sphynx is developing robust strategies and technologies to address these issues, leveraging advanced cybersecurity frameworks to ensure that healthcare data remains safe and accessible as digital transformation progresses.
Sphynx’s participation in HealthIT 2024 marked an important step in fostering partnerships that support Greece’s digital healthcare vision. As a follow-up, Sphynx plans to maintain close collaboration with the event’s participants, including government officials, healthcare providers, and technology vendors, to further strengthen cybersecurity within the NHS.
